On-Site Estate Sale

If you are open to having a sale at your residence or estate property, this sale process could work for you. With this sale process, we open your residence to the public after advertising and marketing the sale prior to the sale dates.

All items are evaluated and tagged by our appraiser, and sold on a specific set of days.

This method usually works best with a larger amount of sell-able contents. These contents often include designer-name or vintage modern furniture, accessories, and clothing items. If you would like to sell outdoor furniture and objects, as well as vehicles, full garage contents, and lawn equipment, you may also benefit from this sale process. This is also a great option if you are looking to sell current and trendy items.

Off-Site Estate Sale

Some sales are best performed outside of your residence. Whether you do not want foot traffic in your home, your home is being listed for sale, or for any number of other reasons, you may desire a sale that occurs away from your home.

The off-site estate sale is performed away from your residence, at our secured facility. These sales are open to the public, advertised and marketed prior to the sale dates.

All items are evaluated, and tagged by our appraiser, and sold in a specific set of days.

This method usually works best with decorative arts. The off-site sale is great for when you are looking to sell silver, fine art, jewelry, collectibles, small or designer name furniture, and accessories and unique pieces.

Private Estate Sale

If your home is in a gated community or private neighborhood, has limited parking areas, or your family prefers less traffic and exposure to your home, you may want a private estate sale. These sales are performed on a “by appointment only” basis.

We conduct these sales on a well-advertised and marketed day, or set of days. Your sale can also be extended to a week or even weeks if we determine it is necessary to facilitate the proper exposure to the personal property being sold.

All items are properly evaluated, and a master inventory list is created by our appraiser for the sale.

If you possess designer, vintage modern, and vintage collectibles,  as well as sterling silver, jewelry, vehicles, and fine art  – you may benefit from this process. This is also a better method for hard-to-access homes, and homes not in the best condition for heavy public traffic.

Complete Liquidation

If you would rather not have any type of public or private sale, prefer to sell everything at one time, or you need to have the contents removed quickly to aid the listing and sale of the real estate – or other related needs – this may be the best option for you.

The purchase offer is derived from a careful, detailed, and experienced evaluation. If needed, the offer can include 100% of the remaining specified personal-property.

The labor, packing, and removal of your personal property will be included in the offer to purchase. This is not a method with a “fire-sale” mentality, but is considered a  good method to gain value for property in the most timely and efficient manner.

The major benefit to you in this process is that any higher valued items such as jewelry, silver, vehicles, etc. will not be subject to the normal commission fees that a sale process would include.

Special Collections Sale

We specialize in the purchase or consignment of distinctive collections that have a good “value” potential.

Examples of collection categories could be the following:

  • Fine silver and jewelry
  • Fine and decorative art (mostly listed, known artists)
  • Folk art (especially vintage or antique)
  • Asian or Ethnographic
  • Native American Jewelry and Textiles
  • Vintage Modern Furniture and Accessories
  • All other unique valuables

Written Appraisal

If you have high value personal property, and would like to do your utmost due diligence to ensure you receive the best offers, written appraisals may be helpful to you.

This service offers detailed observation, research, photography, and a written report under the standards set forth by the Graduate Personal Property Appraiser (GPPA) training and education designation. This designation has been obtained by the Fine Estates’ appraiser.

Written appraisals are USPAP-compliant (Uniform Standards of Appraisal Practice). The appraisal takes all Estate needs, Limiting Conditions, and Certification Statements into consideration.

Verbal Appraisal

If you are looking for estimates of Fair Market Value or Replacement Cost Value (used mostly in insurance situations), we can help with a verbal appraisal. This verbal appraisal helps you to know what it would likely cost to replace your valuables.

This version of appraisal includes on-site observation and estimates that do not require additional research.

This is a “verbal-only”, non-certified range of value that we can provide for your peace of mind and to help you understand what these items will likely be purchased for on any given day. Given our experience in selling a wide array of valuables, you can be confident with our valuations.

Hoarding & Neglected Home Sales

If it is difficult to move through a home because it is packed with things, or if it has been neglected for a long period of time, you likely require our help. Hoarding, foreclosures, short sales, or “neglected” homes can be examples for this sale process. If you know someone like this who is in great need, please contact us.

We help you carefully and thoughtfully evaluate the situation, and help you come to a determination for how to best move forward.

Many times, there will need to be a series of sale methods used, including a period of trash removal, excessive labor days, followed by a private sale or off-site sale process. The best combination of methods will be employed, to remove, and or sell 100% of the contents, meet the needs of the family/seller, and obtain the best results.
